Homn, what a guy.

Homn was the attendant of Betazoid Ambassador Lwaxana Troi. He was a tall, palehumanoid man who rarely spoke save in sign language, a skill at which he was quite adept. (TNG: “Haven”) Homn possessed strength superior to that of a Human, and frequently consumed very large amounts of alcohol without experiencing any apparent effects. (TNG: “Manhunt”)

He often joined Lwaxana Troi on her voyages and was reported to frequently have “outrageously lustful thoughts”. (TNG: “Manhunt”) Given her penchant for claiming this of many people (Jean-Luc Picard included) the veracity of this assertion is questionable at best.

He had an indulgent temperament in more than one sense of the word. It could be seen in the way he patiently catered to the sometimes exasperating whims of his employer, as well as his quiet indulgences in the “perks” of his employment. For example, he apparently had no inhibitions in finishing off half empty glasses of wine while cleaning up dishes, and once even snacked on the very berries he was sent to pick for his employer. Thank you for the mention BestofBandCamp tumblr!

I love that Bandcamp exists and now there is a review site (and more around and coming i’m sure) that doesn’t over-intellectualize and just posts a cover and a link to the music- it makes so much more sense in 2010. Back before high speed internet, writing about music made more sense because there wasn’t an easy way to HEAR the music so you would buy the magazine/read the site on your 14.4k modem to get some opinions, now it’s so fast to hear something and make your own decisions. This is great- it’s what the internet is all about- no Corporate Junk no iTunes, no BlaBla, this is the reclamation of what it is to be INDIE, as in “independent and no affiliations to big corporations” , not some genre called “indie” which really lost its true meaning. This is aspirational future! I’m honored to be mentioned on this site and I hope more people put their stuff on Bandcamp and more folks support bands on the site and buy the music since we’re all in this creative boat and uncertain digital (and analog) present together!!!

Just saw this movie- kind of gory/violent but kind of worth seeing scifi- quite a twist at the end ala Terry Gilliam. Reminds me of weird/slightly bad scifis I would rent on VHS from the video store in the early 90s. Also the concept of repo men taking organs for people who didn’t pay up is sinister plus the surveillance society and lock-down culture perhaps is prescient. Get some crappy pizza and cokes and watch this movie.
